As an associate professor, adj., Allie n Steve teaches in the following departments: Art and Technology Studies (ATS,) Film Video New Media and Animation (FVNMA,) Sound, and Liberal Arts. They teach courses that introduce technical and creative strategies in the creation of digital sound and music content, the interaction of sound and music with the moving image, and the history and cultural role of music in America. They have advised student groups organized around music and gender, have initiated and facilitated faculty conversations focused on sharing pedagogical strategies, and serve on the Faculty Business Senate as a part time faculty representative.

Allie n Steve serves as a co-chair of the Board of Directors of The Youth Empowerment Performance Project - YEPP - an organization serving the needs of LGBTQ+ youth experiencing housing instability.

Allie n Steve is a participating member of the Intergenerational Dialogues, an attempt to bring together LGBTQ+ youth and elders to talk about the similarities and differences in their experiences, the language around them, and to find points of connection.

Allie n Steve is a member of the Board of Directors for OTV, a platform for the development, production, and distribution of broadcast media created by and for intersectional communities of color and ability.
